The party who stole a gun on Alaqua and attempted to steal a boat at Freeport, and for which he got a good whipping, is now an inmate of our Sheriff’s hotel.
Mrs. Sarah Tervin; we regret to learn, met with a painful accident last Monday by being thrown from a carriage.
Mrs. Adams who has not been well for some time, was so badly frightened by the pranks played by the lightening during the thunder storm last Sunday, that her life is despaired of.
Miss Nancy McLain, a sister of the circuit clerk, and a most es?? lady, was last week suddenly taken with a fit of insanity, it is feared she has forever lost her reason.
Abraham Bros. Tobacco and Cigar Mfg. takes an interest in the tobacco being grown in Walton County.
Our clever tax assessor, Mr. Phillip Garrett, is a great favorite with the ladies.
Mr. JR Tucker and family are living upon the fat of the land with the old folks at Natural Bridge this week.
Mrs. MA Cawthon for the first time in several months, was able to take a drive in the country this week, her restoration I health is now assured.
The young folks had a grand hop Thursday night to which the married gentlemen whose wives were absent, were invited, Mr. WL Cawthon was declared the most fashionable dancer.
