The Heritage Day is an annual event
held in November. There are various ehibits with costumed volunteers
demonstrating things folks made, ate, wore, or generally how they lived
in the nineteenth century.
Items are for sale, the museum and genealogy library are open to the
public, with volunteers to answer your questions.
Food is available and while the selection often changes, we try to have
frybread each year.
Children enjoy many activities, such as grinding corn, face painting or
perhaps apple bobbing.

Here are some stories of how
people lived in the early days of the county.
Hand in Hand with local
schools
The
museum sponsors field trips for local schools to
come and view the "village" in the Heritage Park where people in period
costume explain various facets of daily life. Kindergarten groups have
come for story telling and craft-making days.
Lessons have been developed for the
schools as well.
