Peaden House
Dallas Peaden built this two story wood frame house in 1895 at what was then known as Peadentown. It is located on the Old River Road, just south of Highway 2, near the Oak Grove community. Oak Grove is one of Okaloosa County's oldest settlements, located on the upper portion of the Yellow River. The Peaden house is believed to be the oldest surviving structure in Okaloosa County. It is currently being restored by owner Jean Courtney, who is going to great lengths to maintain it's original form.
