Mr. TA Beckley knows the worth of a good home paper and has left us a year’s subscription.
We are indebted to Mr. JD McCrimmon for four new subscribers, and to Mr. McGourin for one. Thanks, for the subscriptions and cash.
Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day . . . . We guess DeFuniak has very few Irish citizens, as very few were seen with the green badge.

Chautauqua:
Dr. Gillett, superintendent of the Assembly, spoke for some length of time, stating that is was a good thing for the different denominations to meet together as they had done during the Chautauqua, as it helped them to know each other better, and that one of the blessings derived was the growth of confidence. He also expressed gratitude to Mr. CH Harris for that gentleman’s careful watching and loyal help, and congratulated Mr. Harris on his re-election as president. The superintendent also stated that the officers, board of directors and committee had all done their duty and had carried their burdens in a cheerful manner. He thanked Prof. Skinner, the Chorus, soloists, Misses Colburn, Powell and Smith, the teachers and all who had contributed to the enjoyment of the Assembly. The faithful organist was not forgotten. Miss Ellis has always been at her post, rain or shine, and the Assembly is greatly indebted to her.
