Family Traditions
- An Opportunity to Honor
and Respect Them
Provide
awareness of the culture of
Christmas in a country setting.
Teach
appreciation of our forbearers’
Christmas customs.
Engender
respect for the heritage
of Christmas past.
Encourage
imagination, as well as,
thrift in
celebrating the holidays.
Reaffirm
the
basic values and traditions of Christmas in our community.
During Christmas time 2009, Baker Block Museum will host a
Special Event. The public will be invited to stroll
through the museum park for "Christmas in
the Country" displays. Each of the park exhibits will house a
Christmas story billboard - one of the
stories might be yours. We are now accepting stories as
described on the attached flyer.
Read it;
download a copy and share it with your friends and
neighbors. . . with your church.
But do
it now; don't wait. We need time to get things ready
so,the
sooner you can send it
to us - the better.
“People
love each other today but it’s a
hurried love.My
best Christmas was when I had all my children
together. We had to make everything
then. We’d cut our own tree and make our
own tree decorations everything that went
with it - mostly from the food we raised
ourselves.”
